18 inches BRAEBURN APPLE by MLPT-fan 18 inches BRAEBURN APPLE by MLPT-fan
My first Braeburn ever! :squee:

This is my third stallion made with new pattern. I knew from the beginning that Braeburn wouldn't be easy to make but he turned out to be even more complex that I suspected ^^; First I had problems with the eye - it's really difficult to adjust stallion's eye size and position, at first I made 100% accurate eye from the picture but it came out as a disaster so I had to unstitch fully sewn head from the body and make new one... I remade the eye pattern and the second one turned out very good, as you can see now :D The next problem was the hair - in the Show the mane is onle at one side but after long time of thinking I decided to make it two sided and more 3D than just apliqued colors. The front mane - lots of work here because of so many pieces! In total the whole mane is made out of 21 pieces (excluding apliqued lighter color). Vest was kinda simple but the hat... I have some problem with hats because its so hard to make them look show accurate... It took me 4 hours to make only the hat and I did my best, I know it's not perfect but I hope you like it as well :)

He is 45cm - 18 inches tall and 43 cm - 17 inches long! Huge boy!

hehe, I felt like I needed to write something more about him :D Thank you for reading it!

Braeburn is commission for :iconcartoondog12:and he is not for sale! Thank you so mch for this commission, I really wanted to make him! I hope you like him!

Absolutely amazing job! I cannot imagine how difficult a stallion pattern would be with those faces...the thought of all that adjustment is truly intimidating. So to see it done so right truly is a treat. I LOVE the expression in his eyes. Something about it truly brings out the Apple in him. Amazing pattern overall - everything feels so right, proportion is magnificent. Lovely, lovely work!

And the hair! I know the pieces must have been a pain (21!?!), but it really makes it pop. The first thing I looked to was the mane as I marveled at the forelock. Absolutely WONDERFUL job on perfecting that pretty cowboy hairstyle. The more you look at it, the more work you see. The applique for the lighter color adds that extra "umph!" I think that's what keep drawing me to the mane...that and the utter perfection of this pony!

For the vest being simple, it is really superb! I love clothed plushies, especially when the character's clothes are so much of the character. And the hat is so adorable. I think it looks rather fantastic! :)

I also love his cutie mark. It seems bright, bolder than usual. Maybe it is just the one color being so concentrated, but I really love it! The contrast in the red and his coat color (such a fresh and luscious gold) is just divine. Truly pulls the entire plush together. I know that CartoonDog could not be more pleased! Wonderful, wonderful job.

I know what you mean about the eyes!  It's *really*  hard to find a good position on stallion shaped heads so they'll look good from both the front and side.  Even harder than with the mares, and that's hard enough as is!  He looks very nice :)

Exactly, eye position is always difficult but those stallions... Luckily I can always embroider again and again :D Thank you!

I bet, something I've learned from your plushies is they always look better in person, which is saying something because your photography in and of itself is amazing! :)

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I don't have any cam now since my older one got broken :( I am investing in new sewing equipments and materials for ponies, when I have more spare money than I will buy a cam, it's no use to buy some cheap and poor quality because the effect would be very similar...

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. And camera's are so expensive too!
Please forgive the late reply on my part. That's really unfortunate,
but your work is wonderful so it truly speaks for itself. I bet it will
be a relief to have a good camera again. Good luck! I look forward
to seeing all your new work in the future, ponies and photos alike. :)
